Genio

Genio and graffiti

Genio (real name Teles Cipriano Machava) was born in Maputo Mozambique. Inspired by the work of Portuguese MCs such as Black Company and Bass AC, Genio formed his own rap group Flawless in 2003. Over the past three years he has worked with artists such as Quatro Ases, Ddei and Djovana as well as LA and B-one who now form part of Flawless. In 2005 the group was invited to join So What, one of the biggest rap labels in Mozambique. Flawless' debut album is currently in production.

 

'For me making music is achieving a childhood dream! It's a way of showing the world what I can do and promoting the culture of Mozambique. It stands for freedom of expression'. Genio
