Ziziwathu

Amarildo Valeriano Ajasse (stage name Ziziwathu) is a performance poet and trainee journalist from Maputo. He currently co-ordinates monthly poetry nights in association with the Mozambique Alemanha Cultural Institute.


'To be a poet, for me, is a great responsibility. Walt Whitman once wrote, 'The poets are the aerial of the society'. This, to me, means that if I wish to be a true poet,  my poems should manifest the aspirations of those who don't have the power of voice.' Ziziwathu
