Andreatta Chuma

Andreatta in performance

Andreatta Chuma is a true renaissance woman, having become both a successful computer scientist and performance poet.

 

She is a member of the Botswana Exodus Live Poetry Collective and has performed at the Infinite Word Festival, youth radio stations in South Africa and Botswana, Blackword Festival, Oprah Magazine Tea Party and Soul to Mouth sessions.

 

She took part in Oxford-based Hammer and Tongue's Four Continent Slam Tour, where she toured 13 cities in the UK with seven other renowned poets from North America, Africa, Australasia and Europe.

 

She lists her inspirations as Maya Angelou, Saul Williams and Katie Melua. Her first collection of poetry will be available in 2007.
