Juma Salvador Capela

Juma Salvador Capela (stage name Feling) is a poet based in Maputo. In 1996, together with a friend, he formed the hip-hop duet 'big-bang', which specialised in social satire. In 2001 Juma began to take part in poetry sessions with jazz (Jam Sessions) at Radical Splash and in 2005 he was invited to join Nelo (Nucleo de Estudantes Amigos do Livro), where he became involved involved in many literature activities including: tributes to poets such as José Craveirinha, Noemia de Souza and Rui de Noronha; book fairs, launches and recitals all over the country. Juma has also taken part in the Arts Festival in Matola (Chissano Gallery) and in recitals at Núcleo d'Arte and Radio Mozambique.

 

Currently Juma works on literature programmes for local radio and designs and promote literature events. He is preparing to record a poetry and song CD with national and international poets.
