Maureen Lupo Lilanda
One of Zambia's foremost female musicians achieving widespread acclaim. She has shared the international stage with Black Voices (UK), Baaba Maal, Oliver Mtukuzi, Jonathan Butler and many others. She is a four-time recipient of the National Arts Council (NAC) Award for Best Female Artiste. Her style mixes jazz, Zambian folk, soul and rock.
Maureen has released four albums; Nandayeya, Coming Home, Evolution and her latest release Tetwe. She is the lead vocalist of her European band 'Le Banquets Nomade'. She was lead singer of the Zambian Accapella group 'AMASHIWI'.
Affectionately nicknamed 'Mama Zambia', Maureen appeals to a wide audience and graces many of the country's top events. She works closely with youths in orphanages and drop-in centres, sharing her vocal talents to inspire and help them onto their creative feet.
