Priyadarshini Boodhoo
Priyadarshini Boodhoo, also known to her friends as Artee, is a singer and teacher based in Mauritius.
She reached the semi-finals of the MBC Sur Sargam Hindi song competition in 2004 and, in the same year, became a television presenter for the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, working on 'The Bhojpuri Bahaar', which ran over 15 weeks. Priyadarshini currently teaches design and communication at secondary level and coordinated the Innoved 2006 project, carried out by the NPCC, at school level. Priya has been selected to train future facilitators for the Innoved project in 2007.

'I come into the project more of a teacher and mentor with a good notion of story-telling, more than anything else. I come out of the workshop feeling like an artist with loads of ideas and stuff to share and inspire the youth we were to work with. The people we met were so different yet the work they put together and their joint performances were just stunning. We grew to be friends and enjoy each other's company. We learnt to appreciate and celebrate our similarities and even differences. Now we're ready to work further together and spread appreciation of Power in the Voice.'
