Power in the Voice Festival in Botswana June 2008

Between 14 - 16 August 2008 teams of young people from across Africa took part in a Power in the Voice grand-finale in Gaborone, Botswana.

 

Taking part in workshops and various activities, particpants learnt to create, collaborate and communicate with each other over the three days. And each evening there was the opportunity to perform live alongside renowned poets, rap artists and storytellers from the Southern Africa region and the UK.

 

The festival featured a public voice fair with stalls, live performances and open-mic stages for new and established performers to showcase their talent in poetry, rap and storytelling.
